Hi there,

First post here, have just bought a VZ SV6 and have already managed to bend the aerial on a low branch. Is there a way I can make the aerial stay down all the time? And will FM stations be received if it is fully retracted?

The car is going in for a new headunit tomorrow so it will be a good time to look at such things. Cheers.

There is a plug for the aerial motor. Disconnect.

I don't think you will get much of a signal though, unless you are parked under a transmitter..

unplug it behind the guard liner.

fm reception will be reduced, but local stations should be reasonable.

you could ask the installer to add a switch to raise/lower it.

My radio still works(barely) with the ariel not even plugged it so should work with the ariel down just not as well as it usually would. Should just be able to disconnect the wire that activates the ariel motor from back of headunit and it will stay down.

How about one of those hidden aerials you stick to your wind screen or etc?

The BMW shark-fin style ones for the rear of the roof aren't bad if body coloured.
