- VZ Commodore Ute 05'
Hi all,
In a 3.6l vz ute (auto, S model), i have a rather annoying bearing noise. Sounds like a dry noise, so I'm pointing myself towards the torque converter (because yes the torque converter has fluid but the bell housing would make it echo- well that's my theory)Has done 157k, i changed the trans oil etc at about 100k.
All bearings on the front of the motor have been changed. including alternator compressor etc...
Timing chains have also been changed (full timing kit which has to include a new oil pump)
Questions:
Can the gearbox be taken out from below, ie not having to remove entire engine.
Can a VY auto trans work in a VZ? the 2x links below show me they have the same box:
Holden VY Commodore Specifications
Holden VZ Commodore Specifications
Any other feedback or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
