Rookie wiring question

Is this an earth wire, is so, did anyone else hook their DVD head units to it to access dvd without the hand brake issue

Honestly, the ground in the headunit harness it the easiest place to connect the handbrake wire, IF you want to be able to watch a dvd while driving.

A relay can be used, and a switch - if you want to be able to "prove" to police, RWC places etc, that the setup is legal.
Plenty of "how to's" can be found with a quick Google search.
