AC fan problem

I have a 2004 vy commodore and my fan for the air con is very temperamental 99% of the time it won't work but if you hit a bump in the road at the right time it will start blowing air, what are some ways that I can identify where the problem is?

Check fan relay and possibly change it with a good known working one similar.

Then gets more complicated, checking wiring to fan motor and connections.

Thanks mate I have tried swapping the relay with a new one and that didn't help so at least I know its not that, is it possible that its the fan switch itself or are they generally reliable?

Generally they are reliable

But if its a second hand car, then you are only playing catchup.
