takeing longer to start

Randomly the car has been taking longer to start, this morning it took an extra 3 seconds and once started the dash beeped service soon the car has just be serviced with the reminder reset has anyone else had this problem i scanned the ecu for logged faults with none found the car is a vz calais v8 5.7 any help would be great

Also once started the engine runs perfectly!

Maybe your battery is on it's way out.
A load tester will quickly tell the condition of your battery.
Recharge with a battery charger and see how you go.

^^^ Agree also check your battery terminals and connections to for build up.

battery is only a year old the terminals look fine
Have you done a load test if you don't have the gear(multi/E meter) just head to supercheap they can test it for you. Should be free but what in this world is these days....

check your alternator with a multi meter, should be charging 13 volts plus

Oh just saw again it's a VZ put it in to engineering mode and you can see what the battery and alternator are doing. Sorry thought it was a VT...

How do you put it into engineering mode as I have a VZ too.
