Hey guys, buying a set of 18s for my vz ute with lows all round, will 45 profile be too much, I want 45 over 40 because of 6ks of dirt road driveway.

Your speedo will be out slightly because they are the wrong spec for your model of car.

Will it rub even with 235/45/18 it's just a slightly taller tyre isn't it? Would it be wider than recommended 235/40/18 tyre?

What kind of wheel is it? The offset is useless without the rim width.

As for your tyre width question, both of those tyres are the same width, and the profile is a percentage of the width. So yes, just taller. The problem is the spring seat is quite wide and low, meaning not much clearance.
