For those of you who like that sort of thing, I'll share my VZ V6 Adventra Dash for use with the DashCommand system.

All you need is an Android tablet (it's probably too detailed for a phone), and OBD-II interface, and the DashCommand program.
I've tried a lot of OBD-II software, and DashCommand has them all beaten for power and flexibility.
When they finally give in to my pleas and add the ability to play sounds (like alerts), it will be perfect.

The Dash

It's a modified Tuxedo dash with features I added or designed because I found them useful or interesting, and calibrated to a VZ Adventra, though it would suit most VZ's.
Only the MAIN panel has been customised - I left the other panels alone (so far).
This is the 6.04R version, designed for right-hand drive. Ever notice how those dashes are always designed for left-hand drive?
I decided to buck the trend.

There's a feature list on the DashXl forum, but if there's sufficient interest, I could post it here.

DashCommand users and Adventra owners, enjoy.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

I've been using it for a while, many thanks for your development.

Only thing on my wish list is the transmission temp, but I think it is a limitation of the car or the software.

(sigh) Yeah, me too.

That's due to Holden screwing around with the standard OBD-II codes.
Ambient Temp a few others got the same treatment.
Those codes don't show up in any software except special Holden stuff.

Have you ever done anything with Torque?

I tried to get the transmission temp in Torque by a couple of methods but to no avail.

Yep, Used to be a big fan of Torque.
Then I saw DashCommand and realised the amount of control I could get over the displays.
Great stuff.
I used to do computer programming, so the logic made sense to me.

I still use torque for testing - graphs etc.

Hoping to access more PID's, like Transmission Temperature, I bought a GM Codes option for DashCommand, and a u-beaut OBD=II interface that supposedly handles GM codes, but no luck so far.
I bought the 2005 GM set - maybe that was wrong for my 2005 Adventra.
Or maybe I haven't found the right car to pretend to be.
I don't know.

Yeah there is a reason why they dont work on a VZ V6, and ANY CAN-bus Holden vehicle. (Note your VZ V6 uses the CAN protocol to communicate all the data!)

The so called "GM enhanced PIDs" list only works on selected GM vehicles,For our Holdens it only works on LS1 V8 vehicles. On our VZ Holdens, the enhanced PID's are "read" very, very, very differently!. I know as I reversed engineered the routines from the Holden factory tool. :beer chug:

No software on the internet will read enhanced PID's from a VZ V6.. or any VZ+ Holden commodore (Except the LS1's) except for my program SOE.

If a picture says 1000 words.. how about a video then :beer chug:
This video was taken during its development stages, its progressed alot more since then with a few different features and greater support for different PID's ect.
