VZ series II SV6
Hoping someone might have some suggestions. I have a VZ SV6 with 2.5" pipes. Really nice sounding, but in the last week they have gone quiet. I have had this car for about 5 years and now sounds completely stock. Any ideas?

Muffler falling apart and clogging the exhaust?
My resonator did that once, all the fibreglass started coming out the tailpipe, strangled the exhaust flow a bit, but sounded better again once it was all gone, had more drone though.

Hadn't thought of that. Have had it suggested that it's maybe blocked cat converters or O2 sensors.

O2 sensors-don't think so!, if cats were stuffed the car would run like crap

Any loss of power to go with it? My thought would be the cats are breaking up and partially blocking the exhaust if it isn't the muffler.

No, no loss of power. Running like a dream. Taking it to an exhaust guy tomorrow for his "diagnosis".

Seems strange, both mufflers collapsed (stuffed ), yet running like a dream with no loss of power, you would have to wonder what advantage a 2.5" system has over the std :hmmm:
Good that you sorted it out mate, what brand were they also mate and did they say why they destroyed themselves internally
