It depends.. With the VZ and ve's auto compared to manual the manuals cost about 4k more ontop

How long you have on your P-Plates?

Cars need maintaining.
Whatever you buy next will have inherited its prior owners neglect or CBF bin.

Personally, would reinvest in current car and have plenty of money left over.

But if you are wanting to upgrade, VE SV6

Yeah I've been on my p plates for about 1 and a half years
And I know the risk of buying used cars my dads a mechanic so I can bring him along too see if there's any physical damage

And I would won't a auto manuals fun and all but yeah I find it boring only like it when at drag or with mates

honestly if you want a vz get a Calais but if you want a VZ get a ve sv6. If possible try and get a series 2 SV6.

VX SS (Original owner).
I would go with the VE but the latest one I could afford, the VZ and early VE's had a lot of issues with the timing chains by what I have read and quite an expensive fix, not sure what years exactly but would be enough to deter me from a VZ or early VE. As uniacidz said may be better to fix up the car you have.

Go 2008+ and you'll be good.

so sounds like your interested in an auto, in which case definitely go a VE over VZ as the 6 speed auto box in VE is that much better. and yeah try for 2008 and above and you will avoid the timing chain problems. Try and get 2010+ so you get the 210kw tune.

If your dad is a mechanic, those are pretty steep prices. surely he could buy the parts wholesale and you could both fit them. a bit of father and son bonding maybe???

Either a VZ sv6 or if you are going to choose the VE sv6 make sure it has the SIDI engine..

In my opinion the VZ's look a lot tougher, the VE's are a base model company car..
