Hi all, I am ditching my front Boge struts not happy with them.
What will suit my SSV rims with 245/35/19 tyres. I have Kings SL's in teh front I know they clear on my Boge's with no issues.

I tried KYB AGX's on my senator when I first bought it and they fouled 245/35x19 on std VZ Senator Rims

Guys what's the best option to suit my VZ? There are plenty of SSV rims on VZ's what is my best strut option? People are saying Bilstein or Koni's but it seems you have to modify current struts?

I have 19in rims and went back to stock strut and added the koni inserts. But I did have durashock struts in the front, they have provisions for 19/20in rims so they don't rub.
Honestly they aren't the best strut but the utilising the outer shell of it matching it with a decent insert like a bilstein or koni, they would work well.

I've got Biltstein inserts in the stock Monroe struts and they're awesome, quite firm but great to drive. Fairly low and run 234/40/18 as well as 245/38/19 with no dramas rubbing.

How did you do this? I cannot work out how to adapt it.

You mean the shocks? For the bilsteins you chop the old ones out and weld in a new collar for the new insert, similar with the Koni's but they're bolt in rather than weld in.

Re fitting either Bilsteins or Koni use Monroe housings as you know they will clear std 19" tyre sizes for VT-VZ's.
I have Koni's fitted to my Senator pretty simple to do at home.
Drill small hole in centre of bottom of strut housing to release gas and fluid.
Then drill hole out to 12.5mm for bolt.
Cut off the top of the housing at specified distance.
Put in Koni shock insert fit bolt to bottom and fully tighten to spec.
