Hi all, just got a vz adventra about a month ago and its got some weird issue with voltage.
at random times the voltage will sometimes spike off the gauge which then makes the dash cluster shut off and reset and do other stupid things.
ive also seen the voltage drop right down to 11 which seems to trigger the service due alert, even though its not due.

im thinking the regulator might be faulty, but ive been told it might have 2?
any information you can give me would be appreciated.

Have you had the battery tested with a 'load test' ?

VZ adventra voltage regulation is done by ecu.. You have a faulty alternator..
Had a similar fault. They dont just die like old commodores... Even at the end a multimeter told me I was getting 13v but battery went flat and dash went mental.
On the upside they are fairly cheap and not hard to change.

I got the same thing. It's the volt reg switch on the back of the alternator and in a prick of a spot

Just an update, ive had the alternator replaced and its no longer overloading the dashboard, which is great.
however the voltage is still going up and down a fair bit, sometimes 12, somtimes up to 15.
and the lights all seem to be surging rapidly
