No need to remove the fuel tank
Remove plastic tray/tub liner if you have one fitted
At the back of the cab on the tray floor, remove the fuel tank cover panel. You cant miss it, has about 5 million phillips head screws holding it down
Once cover is removed you will then see the top of the fuel sender/module assembly that the fuel pump is located in with fuel hoses & wiring going to it
A quick basic rundown of what is involved:
Depressurise the fuel system. While vehicle is running remove the fuel pump relay and let it konk out. Crank it over a couple of times.
Leave the relay out for now and turn ignition off
Disconnect the battery
Label or mark the fuel line connections to make sure they go back in their right places
Disconnect hoses & wiring harness
Remove sender/module assembly, Replace the fuel pump or the complete assembly
Then put it all back together. Don't forget to refit the fuel pump relay before trying to start it
