Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
I already answered your question in your thread http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vz-holden-commodore-2004-2006/255075-my05-vz-ss-ute-work.html and you're asking it again in another thread. If you were still unsure, you could have messaged me here.
Where the cupholder rubbers sit is completely different shape to the console compartment box. I asked this question in my thread ages ago http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vy-holden-commodore-2002-2004/249308-compartment-box-centre-console.html. If you looked at the photos closely, you will see it's a different shape. If you put in the compartment box where your cupholder is, it will simply wont fit. It will rattle around & you wont be able to open/close them properly.
The compartment box was an option but I do know it was standard in the Calais. It's just not the box only. You need to have a different centre console to fit the box as it has clips on the sides & a bit of plastic cut out to hold it as shown in the photo in my thread. If you do not believe me (again) go to to your local Holden Dealer Spares section & ask them to get the diagrams up on their system. They will be happy to help. Just after a quick search, the console box listed on eBay is $124 & the centre console plastic that will hold it is about $80-$90. Want to save some money? In the image below is a small bit of rubber (marked as number 2) that sits on there perfectly for about $10 & does not move nor rattle. It's still safe enough to carry the odd coin or remote.
In this photo, this is what your centre console should look like IF you have a compartment box. Look very carefully. If you don't have this configuration, then dont buy it.
Before you go on an eBay shopping spree, check with your Holden Dealer Spares section to see the price & if they have it in stock. It'll surprise you the price difference between Holden & a seller on eBay. Plus if it's not the right part or you need advice, someone from Holden will tell you instead of some seller on eBay who is dubious as there might not be a return policy. I deal with specialised sellers on eBay only rather than individuals.
There's also the google search engine on the top right hand corner. Use it, it's very helpful as someone may have asked this question before than start another thread which will have the answer. If you don't believe other forum members here on JC who have had the same experience, then you can find out the hard way wasting your time & money. The idea of this forum is to share ideas, find solutions to problems so we can all benefit to keep our Holdens going.
Looks the same to me! Should be a winner for it then. I may have to go re-check mine... I don't have the bluetooth button though... Neither of my SS's did. Wonder if that's because yours is a Quicksilver upgrade? Might also be why your console is different?
Though I like the cup holders, I use them ALOT.
