Hello People,
My first post but i have obtained a lot of info lurking so first of all thank you very much. Secondly i recently retro fitted an Ecotec into a VZ and it's Registered and Roadworthy in VIC. Although i know many may ask questions like why and how could you i am only here to share my experience and answer any questions. I'll post pics as soon as i figure out how.

PS; I normally work on Datsun 240Z 260Zs so this is way out of my comfort zone.

Whatever you decide upon, you are required, by law, to maintain all of the relevant ADR's (Australian Design Rules) and Pollution Controls that existed at the time of manufacture of said vehicle. By installing an older model engine you will not be able to comply.

Strange thing to do, and it could NEVER comply.

Think you better stay with the ZEE's.

Interesting that it's registered and road worthy, was it a hassle to get around the legal side of things?
