VZ SV6 hot red
Jus purchased a sv6 VZ , only had it 1 week and now it's in pieces with sludge so big I would call crude. Hopefully pics upload, so anyone with ideas on fixing or cleaning it, beside new motor.

for a dyi job.
drop oil
scrap/suck off what sludge you can.
change oil
drive for a few km
drop oil and repeat

and if it doesnt work, you need a new motor anyway

how many km btw?

Good luck. Plenty have tried to clean it all up only for it to come back and bite them. Your best option is new motor in my opinion.

OMG. Why oh why do people NOT change their oil regularly?

What the Hell do the books tell you from the previous owner?

2 big issues with the Alloytec. One is the scheduled servicing is far too long between changes. Also the oil filter themselves is tiny.

Ive been through this....i used a caustic degreaser called veet and it took a shitload of work....your sump will have to come off too ....and I havent even mentioned the timing chains....problem is you need to see inside the engine you buy so you dont get another one
the picture inside the head is a shade worse than my car but it gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling when it all cleans off

A lot of Alloytec owners replace oil AND filter every 5,000 kms. Cheap insurance and should avoid build up of sludge etc.

You have my sympathies trying to get that clean.
The problem is that all that gunk has possibly been holding everything together and keeping it quiet, once you clean it up god knows what will happen, will keep my fingers crossed for you though.

I can see why you've bought it, it's a really nice looking car. Anyone can get caught like that, we don't have Xray eyes so we can't see inside the engine. I change the oil and filter every 5000 KM or one year which ever comes first and I do it myself, it takes 15 minutes and it's cheap.
