    Default Alloytec KW

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick Q - Why has holden changed the base model ute to 172kw from 175kw? Have I somehow missed a new model launch? Have I been living in a fantasy world?

    Im confused!

New emissions control standards that came in Jan 06 meant that changes to the exhaust have dropped the power rating i believe. Someone correct me if I am wrong.......

yeah apparently that plus (or because of) 2 extra cat converters in the system. Only a slight difference, but I guess it was bound to happen

thats kinda wierd...think about it, when the new emission laws came in the
V6 had to lose power whereas the V8 gained 0.3L in size...i spose it is all to do with the VE coming out, but we do have a 190 kw variant already...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

holden should scrap the 175/172 engine and just have the 190... and tweak it to crank the power up to 210Kw

It was the euro 3 emission laws.
Strange how the Falcon didn't lose power. I'd assume there isn't going to be a 175/2kw motor in the VE.

The falcon gained power to 190kw, due to changing to the VCT system..
