    Default VZ center console removal

me and the mrs took my ute to go pick up some pizzas the other night and as she ran in to the shop i decided to change CDs. i usually keep my CD wallet in the storage compartment behind the glovebox lid. when i reached in i noticed it was hot, well, warm there. WTF? seems holden are too lazy to block off the ducts that run to the back seats in the sedans! the heater was blowing out behind the seats.

so ive decided it would be an idea to remove the center console and block off the ducts that run to the back in an effort to make the front vents work a little better.

or is this a fuggin stupid idea..?

    Been there done that.
    VY Ute air vents

My guess is that Holden were too lazy to close the vent up.

Ended up removing the trim on the passenger side that is the lowest to the carpet between the glovebox and the seat. You might have to remove the gloveboxt to get it out. From memory that gives enough room to shove something up the vent. I just used a heap of rags can closed it all up again.

It used to keep the cup holders cool, alas no more

It is noticeable but hasn't made a huge difference. For an easy fix i'd say it is worth the effort.
