I know Capa does a supercharger kit and Magic Performancea does a turbo kit. What i want to know is prices, and what power they are getting from each kit. Also who could fit them in FNQ Cairns area, There was alot of talk about the two kits then no-one being talking about them now. I am only new to S/C and Turbos, with either one of these kits will they add more torque.
Any help would be great.
Thanks Gavin![]()

ha, my mistake. 400Hp. ive got a pic (which has been posted elsewhere) witha dyno read out which i thought was in Kw but is actually in Hp. so you are correct![]()
that sounds about right, but whatever the figures ive been in an SV6 with a capa kit and it moves very well indeed. a great mod if you can justifiy spending the money.Originally Posted by Troy711

i can justifiy spending the money... to get to work quicker. i just cant afford it![]()
"company expense"
Tax deductable, tell them its replacemant parts for a work car.....
im already gunna claim a new set of wheels.. i dont think i will be able to claim a supercharger![]()
Bugger, you think they will get wise to u? lol
what sort price are we talking about. 10g and under or above
from memory the capa kit is about 7-8k.
That kit has a vortech V2, intercooler and makes about 400 hp.
Become friends with a tyre salesman.
nice, you would go through a few with a VZ S ute.
my HZ wastes 245 tyres in no time, so i have a constant strugle to find cheap ones to replace them.
oh and wgs150, im sorry but i know nothing about the turbo kits, try one of the bluechip tuning threads, he might help.
I thinkl the 330kw turbo kit from magic performance sell for $10k.
I heard the capa kit stage 2 with the cooler is 350kw for $6k,would be good to see look on some v8 boys faces, when they say wtf in that, silent drive supercharger awesome, capa told me the kits will be ready by late may or early june.
some are out now. my mate has one on an SV6.Originally Posted by brettsv6

low to mid is better than i expected a big improvement on the ecotech kits. he is only running at 7psi atm but that will be increased soon, probably to 9-10 so that will pick it up even more.
He ordered the kit from capa thinking it would get here later this year but it arrived about 2 weeks ago. A place in perth fitted it under his watchfull eye, but i cant remember the name of the shop.
Is it better to go with S/C or the turbo, in the long run which will be easier to upgrade without changing all of the parts if something new come out.
EG: putting a bigger S/C or turbo or intercooler.
hate to do this to you but its personal preferance. both systems can be upgraded to a certian point. above that internials will have to be changed. with a turbo you will spend more upfront because of the manifolds, but then you can put a bigger turbo on those manifolds. another plus with a turbo is that boost can be controlled with the righr boost controller and this alows you to crank more boost through on race day. however to get more boost an a supercharger you will have to change pulleys.
A supercharger will give better lowdown and you wont be another ricer with a BOV. lol
as i said both can be upgraded, it just depends on what you want to do.

I thought they came with the 9psi standard in the stage 1 kit with the water injection,What kind of exhaust is he running, and last but no least,is he using the original final gear ratio that came from factory 2:87:1.
Sorry so many questions, but a lot of people have been waiting for this kit including myself, was told once the software&tuning had not been sorted and that all interested parties would be notified soon.
[QUOTE=brettsv6]I was talking to my mate earlier today and he said that his kit was one of the prototypes that they sold, he reports back to capa and they sort out the bugs for thier production. His is down rated atm but as i said will come up later to the 9psi. As for the exhaust he is running pacemaker extractors and some sort of 3inch exhaust i dont know the brand or anything else about it. lastly im not sure about the diff ratio but it may be a while before i can find out as he has gone away for a few weeks.Originally Posted by slundy
Cheers Slundy for the info, is his the auto or manual?.
Waz thinking of fitting duel 2.25 s/s exhaust with hi-flow cats from difillipo exhaust and pacemakers with the ceramic coating.
Auto, but it still lights up the rears well.
That exhaust sounds good i think it will have a good note and will be able to handle a lot of power. What rear bar will you put on for the twin exhaust, dual cut out or will you just put them both out the single cut out?
Would look great with twin cut outs and two stainless curved dump pipes.
Would love to go dual cut out but the bloody fuel tank is a pain,so i will have to stay with the single cut out, like ss style only with the 2.25inch s/s with the x merge pipe all stainless with the curbed s/s tips.
Some sv6 owners are putting dual 2.5 out of the single cut out,i want something that will bring more low to mid range power, than top end.
sounds like fun..
good luck with that.
