Cool S to SS vents 06'

    G'day y'all
I've ordered the SS side vents/indicators today
    also the front intake grill
funny my VZ S ute intake has a row of lugs on the bottom they look like ugly teeth when viewed front on
It must be a SS front ?
I had a close look at the vents on a SS
the whole unit is recessed so the indicators are almost flush

Cutting holes in the S guards might not be good enough ?
cut n' weld a patch kit or SS pre moulded guards !!
need to weigh up the costs of new $600 painted
or a patch kit made up ?

Anyone done a change on this model ?

i asked a panel beater about putting SS side vents in... they seemed to think that the best way to do it was to buy SS gaurds and do it that way. they also said not to bother cos it would cost a shit load in buying the parts, painting them and they would have to blend the paint into the front bumper, the bonnet and doors if i wanted it to look good.

you could try cutting them, i dont see why it wouldnt work... i thin the factory gaurds have tabs on them where the vents screw to.? can someone confirm this?

best off getting new guards. and your car is still pretty new so there should be no need for blend to other panels if the painter can match the colours right. also you could sell the standard guards. i assume there still like new so they would cover some of the cost

There must be a way to cut them into the gaurds cos I've seen a VP and a VS with them... Seemed to look ok from a distance (The job that is). Can't say that it looked all that good as far as matching the car!

My thoughts exactly. If it was up to me, I wouldn't let anyone buy SS bits unless they can prove they have an SS.

Just my opinion though - commence flaming now!

    Cool

Was at the dealers today and the Maloo ute has similar vents without the chrome trim
will post a pic with custom "S" vents when the job is done my crasho is going to fit em in with only an "S" badge underneath

Now the VE vents on the ClubSport are something else again

True. There's no denying that looks nice. I still don't agree with it, but I understand why people do it...

To answer a couple of the more intelligent posts in this thread you can purchase the VZ SS guards complete from NVU

might be an option but im preety sure its about $1000 all up just check out there site they also do them for VT-VX and also VN-VS i think

JHP Performance do them as well, but for VN-VS they are around $800 a freakin side.
