different models
Hi guys,
I'm in the market looking for a 2005/06 VZ wagon and I'm a bit confused as to what the differences are between the models: Executive, Lumina, Equipe, Acclaim, Berlina, etc.
And is there one that is better for the price then others? One not to get? And other questions like that?
Thanks

Im not exactly 100pc sure but cauz i was also in the market only a few wks ago, ended up getting a VZ EXEC V6.But from wat i can recall The EXEC-ACCLAIM-BERLINA Are exactly the same but for the xtra bits of chrome bits around the exterior and full power window4x on the berlina, mines only got 2frnt pwr windws.dont ask me why holden did that! The Lumina is actually better spec than the execys because there built in limited numbers and have just a few more nice bits than the run of the mill models. But personally id go 4 the execy(biased because there all essentially the same car, besides form the pwr winds.i think the Lumina also gets Traction control.Equipe models arent that special.ps:the alloytechs fuel economy is gr8!also the drive-by-wire is so sensitive accelerates real smoother than the old buick 6s in the vy<models.hope i helpd

Hey mate,
The acclaim is probably best value for money. Comes with all the safety features (traction control, side airbags, etc...) and is in between the exec and the berlina.
According to drive.com.au

Stepping up to the Acclaim brings ESP, side airbags, parking sensors, power rear windows and auto transmission over the Executive, and alloy wheels and some colour-coded bits add a small touch of pizazz to the exterior
|
(Note the exec has auto)
The equipe is basically an exec with the 'limited edition' features - they are usually a last of season model (alloys, rear power windows, i think it also has a leather steering wheel), but that being said the berlina just has a few more luxury features - nicer interior (colours and material) but doesn't have all of the safety features of the acclaim (no Electronic Stability Control System (ESP)).
Let me know if you need anything else clarified. Oh and btw I drive an exec, and I'm pretty darn happy with it

Cool, thanks for that info. We're still undecided though as to what we're buying. Apparently the wife wants an X-Trail now, so I'm not sure what's happening now. Will let you know what we do anyway.

I reckon the Berlina would be top of the line wagon, they look better then the acclaim.

Don't mean to split hairs, but I have done plenty of research (having just got a VZ not a week ago). The Berlina has ABS & EBD (as do all the models) and TC.
This was one of the published articles I came accross
Quote:
The Acclaim gets pretty much the Big Kahuna of ABS, EBD, ESP (which includes traction control) and side airbags so it is the model that stands out if maximum safety at an affordable price is important. By comparison, the Berlina is more expensive but doesn't get ESP. It has traction control, which incidentally is a new system that doesn't have the uncomfortable 'push back' on the pedal of previous Commodore systems.
