    Default calias chrome mould

    hey guys

ive been getting alot of PM's and emails lately about my chrome moulding on the front of my sv6, so i thought i would make it easier on me and you guys by just making a thread on it.

first of all this fits all vz bonnets(except monaro).

    part numbers.................part...................... $
    GM-92211005...........chrome part..............60.80
    GM-92211422...........bracket....................45.0 0
    GM-92138638...........nuts and bolts.............2.04
    GM-92138637...........nuts and bolts.............2.60
    GM-92138639...........nuts and bolts.............2.36

its easy to fitthe brcket you get just bolt on to the underside of the bonnet and then the chrome bit screws onto that..

and you will need a torx bit screw driver to fit it

    cheers nathan

edit: there will be a little nipple type looking thing on the underside of the chrome mould. if left there the mould will sit up a little bit and look crap.... so just cut it off. its only plastic

mate you gotta get the lower grill fitted to that.

Mine didn't have one either, i went into holden and ordered one from an SV6. it fits straight in. There's a thread or 2 explaining how to fit it yourself, or you can be lazy like me and get holden to do it for they're ridiculously overpriced labour rates.

just checked my mums calais and the surround actually fits into the actual front bumper and not on the actual fog light itself so i dont think it will fit on.

    cheers

ok i got mine yesterday and fitted it last night. Cost was just shy of $150 all up using those part codes supplied.

Was a little tricky installing it. Its got this little bump thing that pokes into the bonnet. Freaked me out that it'd damage my bonnet so I filed it back flat with the rubber.

Here's a quality pic took this morning on my phone on the way out.

    I like it.

I just need a little more chrome now because it looks unbalanced.

You guys are lucky that you can get all the parts at present. I have been waiting months for the mounting bracket for the VY Calais which has been out of stock. I've got the chrome strip but until I get my hands on the bracket, it sits on the shelf.

Incidentally, the VZ mounting bracket is totally different and can't be used on the VY bonnet - I tried.

No standard chromed grille from Holden, but I saw an ad for a mob in Qld that chrome plate plastics, and the VZ grille was shown chromed in the ad.The magazine was "Just Parts", available at any newso.

I found this one but it only covers barley half the bar and they want $95 for it no thanks.

I prefer the ones I see on ebay with the chev logo but I prefer the Holden logo.

That's not the same ad I saw. The advertisement had a picture of a VZ (might have been a VY) grille, fully chrome plated. Didn't take any notice of the price, but the ad indicated that they could plate any plastics without risk of damage.

Great, I saw this bonnet garnish on a calais in the carpark at work the other day and have been looking at putting it on my exec. Will be getting this on payday. Respect naf33n, good work on the part numbers, always helps to go to holden with the right part numbers.
