    Default VZ commodore 0-100

    Hey

I was just wondering does anyone know the 0-100 times on the VZ Executive 175kw alloytec? becasue my uncles got one and i took it for a spin a couple of weeks ago and it doesnt seem any quicker than my VY commo, if anything it seems slower, even though it has got 23kw more than the ecotec motor.

it would be about the same due to the lack of low end torque that the alloytech engines have

its not that they have a lack of torque down low its just that its managed via the computer and how its tuned,

take the new ve's for example, at 2000rpm they just haul and it quiet easy to get some speed in it, they take off from the traffic lights real good too.

Sammy ran his VZ ute on the gtech and made a low 8 as a best run after several 9 flats I think but you'll have to ask him for exact numbers. I wouldn't think that's any faster than a VY my dad has a VY ute and I'd bet money on it being able to break under 8 flat

Another run torque launch..... at 1800rpm......... 0-100 in 6.9 seconds. I think this can be improved on........ with tweaking the spark and cams a bit more to help give it that push mid range and to strengthen the top end a bit with a tad more air to make a tad more torque..... ** I recon i'll be able to get mine to under 6...

im driving a 2005 sv6 lsd with a 2 hole mod, and an 2 1/2 " exaust and i do have to say it is quicker then the exec, had 3 goes in a row with a vz exec and i was just over a car length and half to 80- 90 kays.
im thinkin also the gear box in the sv6 helps as well, its a little smarter then the four cog, paddles dont really make it any faster. my mate also has a supercharged calais, bog standard, stock makin just over 170 kw, he gets me off a standin start by a half car lenght and were pretty much even on a 30 and 50 kay rolling start. in my opinion ive driven an 2002 ecotec statesman for a while and i have to say the ecotec are gruntier down low but run out of puff pretty quick while the alloytec will want to rev out to 6500 rpm and higher, more felxible in my opinion, they both feel real diferent, maybe slower in real day driving but will go harder if u give it a bootful

also from what i have heard a diferent computer setup can take out the torque management sysytem and give it a bit more poke down low.

Wait your exec that supposedly has 240kw at the motor is only doing 0-100 in 6.9secs. My SV6 with only 195kw at the motor but a much fatter midrange then stock due to the VCM tune does it in 6.9secs.

With 240kw at the motor you should be doing 0-100 in lowish 6's Im guessing you have no LSD and have some severe wheelspin right?

BigDaddy you really need to put your car on a Dyno... You can't keep making wild accusations about your beast of a car with absolutely no backup.
