    Default Rolling Forward in Reverse

    Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have a 2006 VZ Commodore Exec Sedan (Auto) that I purchased a few months ago second-hand.

I have noticed that it is rolling while in gear. For example, if I am on a downward slope and I put it in reverse, If it is a reasonable slope I need to use both feet (one on the brake and one on the accelerator) so as to not allow the car to roll backwards. Same goes but not as much I think in Drive.

Does anyone know if this is normal as I don’t remember it happening in my older car or what the problem might be?

    Hope someone can help!

    Lindsay

ah yeah mate this happens with every single car in the world if the slope is great enough...thats what the torque converter is for...some cars take a much steeper hill to roll back on but some cars will roll back on fairly small hills...nothing to worry about

    Great, glad to know.

Is this the right way to combat it then? to use the left foot on brake, accelorate slightly with right foot, and then take foot off brake?

I don't really use my left foot. I just quickly switch my right foot over to the acclr pedal quickly.

i found when i had my auto that if you do a quick gear change from d to r or something similar and get of the gas straight away you notice the slipping or delay in moving. but if you put it in reverse and wait a second or two before taking you foot off the brake it much less noticable
