Thanks

I'm guessing inside the top of the door frame will be 2 lugs that the window rests againts when in the up position. They will be covered by the window rubber mouldings. Thats have the VN is done.
The lugs need a small adjustment.
I'll have to go have a look now......

Had a look at the drawings of the VZ last night but could not find anything on it. I have the same issue with the drivers side window. Crack it down and the rattle stops but you get the wind noise.
I'll keep looking.....

ok both front doors of mine creak when they where put down, then put back up, everytime without fail, it creaks, fix open and shut the door seems to fix it, comes from the seal or where the top of the window seats, ive tried lubricating the seals without any luck, tailgate makes a similar noise
next time i pop into my friendly holden dealership i might metion i want that fixed as well as my diff replaced lol

I noticed it with the Adventra last summer, especially on hot days. Must be poor seals or something.
Hey Andy just a heads up, theres only so far you can push Holden service with warranty before they'll tell you to shove it ...
I'd be more worried about the more important things like the diff and stuff like that first. I made the mistake of complaing about the small things when the car only had 1000 km on it, and it just become too difficult to deal with them in the long run because they see you as a problem customer who they will never be able to please.
Its a known problem with warranty, if you check out this very forum you'll find many "why I hate Holden service/warranty" threads ...
As far as rattles and creaks go their all normal and in Holdens view they will never be able to get rid of them completely. If you want a rattle and creak free car buy something prestige Just part of the thing when buying a premium branded car.
Sucks when youve payed big bucks for it but thats the reality at the end of the day
Just trying to help you out here, please dont flame me

I used to have this exact same problem with my VT Wagon that had tinted windows. was told by holden that nothing gould be done to fix it being as it was the tint on the windows slipping around when ever i went over a bump.

Same rattle in mine, my quick fix is to give the window switches a couple of flicks upwards after the window is up. Seems to make the seal tighter, although this is probably not good for the motors in the long run.
If it's any conselation my mums BMW does the same thing ALL the time...

I feel better now knowing a BM'er has a little rattle too.
I guess if a Holden rattle stops it means the bit has fallen off and not needed anymore

Guys, is it a rattle or an actual squeak sound, squeak points to seals, rattle points to window loose. VY/VZ's have a screw at top of door frame that can adjust the window, try that see how ya go .
