Hey does anyone know if the nokia kit will work okay with sony ericsson phones? Also how did the install go? Does the nokia kit work okay with phreddy's stereo mods?

    Thanks,
    Adam

ok mate thanks. Wehre did you buy yours from? Anyone local in melbourne with the kit so i can test it with my phone =)

Oh just came to mind, can i use any sort of kit and wire it up into the holden stereo, or is it just coincidence that the nokia kit works?

I can't see why you couldn't use any kit! Just make sure you get the phone loom from holden, it supplies you the wires for power, stereo phone mode and sound via the cars speakers etc.

I got one the other day from Preston Motors in Dandy for a few $. If you like I can post all of the part numbers of the items you will need!

For a VY you need the 4 option bezel as I originally got the one that has two, one fixed and the other for the phone button!

All parts are in dark tempist, yours being an SS may be black, but at least you can give a part number and get on the right track.

    Bezel & Blank Covers (req 3) 92111636 & 92111640 not sure on $ but the 2 vers was $7
    Phone Switch 92172331 - $22.50
    Wiring Harness 92175840 - $6.95

You can also buy the wiring loom/plug to go into the switch, however it is over $50

Alot of money when you can make something up yourself for a fraction of the cost.

The guy at Preston Motors told me that he thought they had trouble with the GM ones!

My friend has a WL caprice and had problems with her bluetooth not connecting properly with her phone, but it turns out the bluetooth version needed to be upgraded from version 1 to version 2. All works sweet now.

Ok, Since no one could help out with this, I'll post it so for anyone else who might need this. These part numbers are for a VZ with the grey console (there's a black as well so the parts guy told me).

Finally got around to finishing the installation of the button! (wired to NK-7W box using an rj12 connector plus phone cable and lights on power from the cig lighter connector)

Works very well with both using the phone via the cradle and bluetooth.

thanks to juzo for all of his help

Hi guys. Did some looking on the net apparently the nokia kit is Bluetooth version 1.0.
I mentioned above that my friend had a problem with her caprice bluetooth. Apparently her phone (Ericsson Z610i) is version 2.0 or 2.1, and her holden kit was 1.0 or 1.1, and therefore the bluetooth kit didn't support her phones newer bluetooth. So she got it upgraded and now it works. I have the ericsson w850i which also did not connect to her holden kit prior to the updated, but since it was updated it works.

So does anyone know anything about this? Will my phone work with the older version of bluetooth or do i need a version 2.0/2.1 car kit?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Hi guys just rang sony ericsson. Apparently all they're phones are now version 2.x and do not work with version 1.x kits therefore you need a verison 2 car kit.

I'm currently in the process of installing the CK-7W i just need to wire up the holden button. Can someone provide a diagram of which wire goes on which pin, as i'm having trouble working it out myself.

    Cheers

    try this!

    _ _ _ _
    _

    4 3 2 1
    5

    Green to terminal 1

    Yellow to terminal 3

    Blue to terminal 4

    terminal 2 is blank

terminal 5 is for the lights on (run a wire from the cig lighter plug, behind the right panel under the radio)

I used a phone cable and put an rj12 connector on the ck-7w end to match the above colours as I didn't want to wreck the cable from the nokia button!

    hope this helps!

    Cheers Sam71!! That worked perfectly.

I decided to use a phone cable as well, but instead of using the cig lighter for the lights (i only have the power source in the centre console) i just tapped into the light wire from the Traction Control Button, seems to work a treat.

    Cheers for the help.

Hi guys, just purchased a new phone, the LG U990 which has version 1.2 bluetooth and not v2.0 like my old sony ericsson.. so should hopefully work with a CK-7W kit. Anyone here got the LG U990 hooked upto the CK-7W, or any other v1.2 phone... just to confirm it works. Thanks.
