    Question Bluetooth phone kit

Does anyone know the cost of the bluetooth phone kit to fit a VZ by any chance, or how easy/hard they would be to install??

Buying one of the clip-on blue-ant kits, that fit to the sun-visor, is the cheapest and simplest way to go. Battery either recharges between use, or you can feed from the power socket. Blue-tooth phone hooks up automatically each time you enter the car. Low cost, simple to install, no modifications to the vehicle and its portable between different cars. Who could ask for more? Cost varies between about $100 and $200, depending on which kit you buy.

    Regards

I went with a nokia bluetooth kit. It was easy to fit as vt onwards have wiring in them for a phone. Good thing about these is they mute the radio when on the phone and the audio comes through the car speakers. I think there around the $180-$200 mark. You could also go with the holden kit as they just plug straight into the wiring and work the same way but are around the $700 mark for a vz.

Buy a nokia kit.Heaps cheaper and works great.
I've got a ck-7w kit in mine, used the factory button so it looks stock and works like a charm.By the time i'd got everything and installed it total cost would be around the $150 mark.

What is the factory button that you mentioned? Is it the same as comes with the holden kit?

I have a CK-7W kit and just think the button is untidy!

The button i'm talking about is the factory one that sits behind your power window switches in the console.
You use the nokia button patch, cut the button off the end and strip the wires down and connect to the right terminals on the factory button.
If you need more info on how it's done let me know.

juzo where did you get the switch and surround from?

The only thing I can see if you stop using the nokia button is that you won't be able to change the volume! Is this true?

Can you still use the redial function from the holden button?

Your volume is through your headunit so that shouldn't be an issue.
The switch and surround you get from holden. Not sure about the redial function as i haven't even tried to do it.I just hold the button in for a couple of seconds and use voice tags, works well.

No Probs! Will look into it!

I have a VY which had the nokia kit installed when I got it, I am not sure how they wired it up! The radio knows when a call is taking place or the phone is plugged in, however I think they may have used the speaker that came with the CK-7W kit as the sound does not appear to come from the vehicle speakers.

Ok, what you need to do is take out your glovebox and undo the two screws that hold the side panel on the centre console.Behind that panel is where the wiring should be.
There is a plug there with wiring, expose the wire colours, your looking for a blue and blue/black wire. They are the wires you hook into for your speakers, much better that way so you control the volume through the stereo.

This'll make it easier, remove the glovebox and undo this panel

The panel drops down and you'll find this plug taped up

Best thing to do would be to spend $12 and get a phone patch from holden, part number 92175840.It plugs into that plug and you just wire your kit to it, done!
    Switch looks like this

You should only need a bezel with one hole, it replaces the little rubber tray behind your power window switches.I have two because of traction control.
The button will require small terminals, get them from any electrical store. There are 5 terminals in all on the switch but you'll only use three for the button and one for the illumination which you pick up off the cig. lighter.
It sounds hard but it's really quite easy. All up, should be done in an hour or so.

    No worries.
Let me know if you want a diagram for which wire goes where on the switch, if you're going to attack it yourself.

I have a feeling that I ordered a bezel with two holes not one! Silly me!
    Do they come with blanks?

    Hi there

with these kits, I know that when the phone is active the radio mutes, but if you're playing a CD does it just mute it, or does it pause it as well

Going there this morning to pick up, if it is wrong I will get them to get the right bit in! I also have the part number of the blank button.

I had a qick look the other night and they def hooked up the nokia speaker, how do I get the sound from the nokia kit to the radio or is this part of the phone patch loom?

It's part of the loom mate but you need to use your nokia speaker coax because it still plugs into the nokia box.In other words, cut the nokia speaker of the coax and you'll find a red and black wire.Strip those back and connect them to the patch, instructions that come with the patch will say which colour wire they connect to.then you plug it in to the nokia box just like you would do if you were still using the nokia speaker.Hope that makes sense.

    Just got back!

The bezel was ok, has one spot for the phone button and a blank!

I had a quick look at a spare nokia button and I take it that I just need to cut the cable near the button and solder it to the bottom of the GM switch! is this correct? If so I am not sure which wire goes where, they are tiny as well!

Thanks heaps for your halp sp far! :-)

I just noticed that you are in Warrnambool, some of my relo's live there too

I have just worked out why you need the bezel with four slots, the button has to go in the rear as it will not lock in correctly!

Hi, I'm looking at doing the same thing in my VZ.
Would you have the part number still, for the bezels, button and loom. That's all the stuff I need to get from Holden?

Yeah got it thanks mate, I replied!

I had a bright idea and thought that I would relocate either the T/C or power button and put the phone button closer to the T bar, what a s**t fight to find out that I won't be doing that!

Should I have got a plug to go onto the phone switch itself or I think you may have said just get terminals? I think the loom I got goes into the plug that your pics show!
