Default Dual Exhaust

Howdy
Been thinking bout getting an exhaust on the Calais for a bit and playing paint tonight decided to make a Dual exhaust on it.
I really like the look of it but somehow think its not gonna work due to the position of the fuel tank but can anyone confirm this ?
Failing that does anyone have any good recommendation of where i could go to get a good exhaust in the Sydney area ?
I would like something subtle which is generally quiet when cruising but have a nice note too it.
Does anyone have any sound files of there alloytec exhaust aswell ?
Heres the pic of the dual

That looks tuff. never seen that before. I want to do the same to my ute but theres a plate in the way that has to be cut out if i want dual exits. Out it goes i guess lol

what diameter are you thinking of going?

Won't work on a sedan because of the fuel tank. You will need to put the Monaro tank in someone has mentioned before. I don't know if it has been done or not. On a ute it is easy, just bash the lip up out of the way, you don't need to cut it.

Depends on what you have available. Everyone has a hammer, not everyone has a grinder.

I suppose you could try fitting a modified tank under the boot, with a recessed driver's side to facilitate the pipe, but you would need to run the pipe only with no resonator, otherwise the modification to the tank would be so big, it would only hold about 50 litres max. I guess the filler pipe etc would be a problem too.

Regards

pj

It can be done. I have seen a early monaro done and I have that on my caprice but theres a couple of sharp bend that need to be done to achive this. You will also need to cut the beaver panel a bit and get a plastic welder to form the bar.
I have the vz monaro tips on mine but will change to the ovals soon.
Here is a few pics of mine

It does look good, but wouldn't it make the exhaust system pretty restrictive with the massive bend across the bumper? I spose it depends on whether you want performance or just the looks. Let us know what you decide

if you go a 1/4 of an inch bigger it should make up for those bends

get the exhaust fumes out of there, my exhaust is pretty much a straight line from engine to rear. Does look cool tho.
