oh yes it is, but does that mean that there is a short somewhere along the line for the from map lights, and if there is can i find it and or is it fixable, its getting pretty damn annoying not being able to light up the front of the car at night!

have you got a test light? if the back lights where working without bulbs in the front one the earth on the bulb could be shorting back to the positive, at just a thought.
remove the light unit from the roof and check the terminals arnt touching or there is no bare connections or wires etc touching.

Thanks mate, so if i do that and there is nothing wrong does it mean i'm just stuck with out a front set of map lights?
Also a quick un related question would you know how to reset the service reminder so it stops popping up, the person who services it doesn't know how . . . thanks again

service reset = hold up and down, turn ignition on, wait for confirmation, then hold set until it says its clear
i dare say if the back lights work without bulbs in the front, the problem can almost be isolated to a short in map lights

Not too sure which interior light switch set-up yours has however some models have a three way switch that enables selection of OFF, ON without doors open and ON with doors open. Read the Owners Manual if you're not sure.

in one of the map lights, both the connectors were touching, it was the passenger one, so i just assumed that the previous owner couldn't be bothered.
