Default Front rotor loose

Just had car jacked up and notice the the front passengers side rotor is loose, u can move the wheel side to side a tiny bit (which now causes the wheel to rub) the only part that is loose is the rotor, i checked all the nuts and bolt and all were tight, except for one, it was a bolt that is located at the top above the rotor, looks like its to adjust the camber maybe, i tightened it up but the problem is still there, any ideas?

ok , so how do i go about fixing the tie rods or wheel bearings? Is the rotor and hub all one piece, and the 3 allen key bolts at the back are they to remove the rotor? Any help would be sooooo good.

Thanx

The rotor and the hub assembly, which includes the wheel bearings, are separate parts.

The three allen bolts hold the hub assembly on. The rotor is clamped betwen the wheel and the hub. It should be obvious if/when you pull the wheel off.

If you decide it is necessary to replace the hub/wheel bearing, it is fairly straightforward, bearing in mind that there are safety implications if you get it wrong.

The brake caliper needs to be unbolted and supported so as to avoid damaging the brake lines and fittings. I am not sure if the brake water shield needs to removed but I think that the ABS sensor, if applicable does. Then the three allen bolts.

Those will probably be difficult to undo because they are installed using a threadlocking compound. They should be reinstalled with it also; Loctite 242 or similar, the old stuff cleaned off the threads first.

if you search the forum, you will find a thread called vt serivce manual or similar, download the workshop manual, in there you will find all the info you need about disassembling the hub,

i dont think your wheel bearing is the problem though, if its the bearing you should have consistant movement at all points like 90degrees to each point you check it.

if it side to side, get someone to wiggle it, and where the tie rod end is, from the steering rack to hub there is a ball joint to where it meets the hub, if there is movement in that ball joint, replace the end, they are about $15
