HID Coversion for Standard Headlights
Hi all,
I want to convert my H4 hi/lo beam to HID using one of those full conversion kits.
Basically what i know is that you:
*get around 4-5000k temp for it to be the correct light
*you have to have clear head light lenses (which the vz basic headlamp does)
Anything else i need to know?
And is it worth doing it?
Has anyone done it on their VY/VZ, if so can you through up a few pics?
Cheers

Can you get an ebay kit, and chuck some quality bulbs in it? ie Phillips, or is it the whole kit. . . ?

IF you just want to see what it is like the ebay kits are fine. I have known many to burn out and die and many to last several years and still going strong.
Do remember they are illegal unless engineered and no one will do it that I have heard of. But unless you get one with a silly K output then you'll be right. Also make sure it is focused correctly because I know I'm not the only one who has been blinded by some idiot who mounted everything wrongly and faces up way to much so it knocks the oncoming drivers eyes out at night.
Have fun. They are an excellent conversion.

Does the new bulb just slip right, because Ive seen a video of them doing it and they have the rubber boot behind the headlamp where as my car has the plastic cap thingo, with the leads already in the lamp, so that's the bit that confuses me . . .

Na you dont use the rubber grommet, when you take the cap off the back of the headlights you just have to trim the drain area and you can run the new cable out the newly trimmed area, its pretty easy to do without even taking the lights out!
