hmm alloytec servicing ay, only caused you asked
you will need,
1x 13mm ring spanner for sump plug
1x 24mm socket and breaker bar,
1x small screwdriver for removing o-ring from oil cap
6.5 Litres of oil, a minimum oil would be something like castrol magnatec 10w-40, i use valvoline synpower 10w-50 soon to be 5w-40
1x genuine holden filter, i think the ryco part number is R2605P, but i prefer then genuine filters.
undo the sump plug let the oil drain out, make sure you have a big enough container under there,
while its draining lift off the left hand side engine cover directly upwards to release the clips, grap your 24mm socket and breaker bar, remove the oil cap, remove the old filter, use the small flatblade to remove the o-ring from the cap,
reinstall the new o-ring on the cap, install the filter into the cap, use a little oil on the o-ring to lubricate it,
screw the filter and cap back into the engine, once the cap is screwed down just give it a quick nudge or two to tighten it, do over tighten these caps.
once the oil stopped draining, insert the sump plug again, and when its firm (getting tight with the spanner) turn it roughly a quarter to half a turn to tighten it, again do not over tighten the sump plug, ive seen pictures of the sumps cracking due to over tightening.
fill the engine with 6.5litres of oil, start it up for 10secs, stop it, let it sit for roughly 5-10minutes then check the oil, the oil takes a while to drain back in the alloytecs when the oil's cold,
cooling system,
set the heater to max heat, undo the tap on the bottom of the radiator let it drain, you can the remove the hoses off the radiator and flush the radiator backwards, i.e stick a hose in the bottom hole and push the water out the top, you can do the same with the engine but wont be so effective because the thermostat is still in,
buy some red coolant, id personally use the holden dex-cool coolant for maximium compatibility with what is allready in the system, considering the fact the thermostat hasnt been removed the flush out the system, you can get them in 5lt concentrate bottles,
connect all your hoses up, and start pouring the coolant in through the cap in the radiator, i think the whole system uses roughly 12litres at 50:50 mixture, so if theres say allready 6litres in the block and heater core etc, 4.5-5 litres of concentrate plus water to top up will be fine,
before you do this see if there is a bleed screw on the top of the radiator, if there is undo this when you start filling it up,
when its full, and the level dosnt drop, start the car up and let it run, top up the coolant as required,
funnily enough i havnt had to change the coolant in an alloytec at work yet, cause work dosnt keep em for the 5 years, but the cap being the highest point **should** elminate the need to bleed the system, so don't take this guide for gospel,
refit the cap, check for leaks, take it for a drive, let it cool then check the level in the engine cap again
