Default K&N Filter Oiling

I cleaned and oiled my K&N last night, left it overnight to seep in and I seem to have the right amount in there. Its not dripping even if I give it a shake and the red colour is evenly spread. I put it back in but I'm worried that now its next to a vibrating engine and air is going through it, oil will come out of the filter

I know that if its over oiled you can have issues with the MAF getting covered in oil and then getting glitches.

What signs should I be looking for to show that my MAF is getting oil on it and is it easily cleaned?

It's not a huge deal if over-oiled slightly. If you're really worried just clean it off again, and oil it a little less.

You'll know the MAF is getting oily because the side facing the filter will be black and the other side clean (silver). If it gets dirty, just clean it! If you clean it with each oil change you'll be more than fine.

The oil shouldn't harm the engine, it's full of it, and you get small amounts of oil vapour through the PCV anyway.

after every oil it shouldnt be dripping at all, what i usally do is clean it, spray one fine coat onto the filter, let it sit for half an hour, then do another light coat, let it sit, then any spots which arent red i quickly patch it up, theres no need to put that much oil onto a K&N

The first coat I did wasn't enough and I didn't have the filter's packaging which said how much oil it needs (found it online today, should have checked last night BEFORE I oiled it ).

So anyway I went overboard with the second coat, but a lot of excess just came out of it so I left it overnight to set, I'll check again in the next few weeks, but if its not detrimental thats ok then.

Clean the MAF with some contact cleaner after a few thou to get the oil off it. I just changed over to a Lukey and its fantastic. K&N recharge oil ran out and also filter was blown dry with compressed air (not meant to as it opens the cotton up) so i thought what the heck for $45. Seems to flow better during this 5000k's i had it. Easier to clean, safe to blow with compressed air to dry etc...
