Righto, I've got an 05 VZ SV6 with the single-stack CD changer, and also the Holden Bluetooth module installed.
I want to pipe in some music from a Nokia N96 (possibly an Ipod Touch down the track) and want to know what's the best way to go about it. The only thing I hate about the audio in my car is I get sick of the variety farily quickly.
1. Simply replace the single-stack with the 6-stack blaupunkt radio. At ~$990 for a new unit and ~$300 for second-hand, this is a good option but is a tad on the expensive side.
2. Tap the control board inside the radio with the mods by ASR to add an Aux-In, then run the headphone (Line-Out) jack on the Nokia to this. How does this affect the bluetooth's control over phonecalls? I sent an e-mail to ASR but haven't got a reply yet.
3. Tap the signal cable that runs from CD Drive to control board inside the radio. Apparently this requires a blank audio CD in the drive then you are just running your audio signal over the top of a "blank" CD. Don't really like the idea of having to stick CD's and stuff into the drive etc. to listen to MP3's
4. Replace Blaupunkt stacker with aftermarket Double-DIN audio. Don't really want to modify the looks of my interior!
5. Run the audio through bluetooth. This works, but is very poor quality. Is there anyway to upgrade the bluetooth module to make the audio feed over bluetooth CD-Quality??
Any suggestions/comments on any of the above would be great.

I had the same dilema with My car.
Every option I had always had an issue with it.
If I changed the head unit (which I did for a while) it meant I would not have a stock look and it never looked smooth, I do have a 6 stack but even then you get sick of the music an not being MP3 you are constantly changing the CDs.
In the end the best option was for my HU to be modded to have the MP3 player or phone plugged into it.
It works well and the sound is very good (obvioulsy what you play the music through counts aswell though)
Yeah good point, but I'm really looking for a direct feed into the radio. besides, don't most FM transmitters require an external power source?? And how does the signal qualty compare to other options?
Anyone here know how all this A2DP business works with bluetooth ?? I guess if i can get the car to support this profile I can get my audio quality up?
Edit: that reply was to commodore 2004.

Andrewmac, who modded your HU for aux-in?? I think this is the way I'm gonna have to go. I have to spare switches behind my Power window panel (the other 2 are the bluetooth and T/C) so I can sneak a 3.5mm jack and Aux-In switch there without upsetting the facroty look too much. I'm just a bit unsure about how this will all work with the phone/bluetooth as well.

I didnt want to remove the stock unit either but i did and got a MEXBT-2600 sony HU which has in buiilt bluetooth. i havent looked back and i dont miss the steering wheel controls either.
you just have to make sure your car settings are what you want before you remove the old unit as most audio related ones go away also the door unlock settings go too
