I was looking at buying an SV6, hadn't even considered a Calais, didn't realise how cheap they are going... didn't take me long to realise the Calais was the far better option and I bought mine last Saturday

Oh and I like the Calais rims

I own an SV6... therefore the SV6 is better... to be honest you get a s**t load more in a calais, with the same engine same auto box (if ur into auto's ) almost as good suspension (i don't think you get Fe2??), but all the fun electronic goodies.. or you get a V8 with all that electronic doohickyness..

    BUT you could go..
6 spd Sv6, 3.08:1 LSD, Cold air intake, manifold insulator, pacemaker extractors, high-flow cats, 2.5" cat back, aaaand tune.. and have a car thats fun (not blown clubsport fun, but still affordable fun! )

Disclaimer: I'ts only fun till you realize the clutch is cr@p and have to spend a decent amount of money on a better one stupid Holden...

Calais is probably a better daily car though..
Duct tape, cable ties & WD40.. all a real mans toolbox requires! And maybe a Bundy

Looks like everyone is saying Calais
Well coming from a SV6 owner, I do like the Calais as they have more creature comforts.

One thing i dont like about the SV6 is the near executive spec dashboard apart from the leather wrapped steering wheel & SS style dash cluster.

In the end it depends on ur taste's. as said earlier you cant get the 6spd in the Calais but u can in the SV6, fuel eco is better than the Calais. City/hwy for Calais is 11.5L/100km while the SV6 is 11.1L/100km. Hwy fuel usage is where the SV6 is best.

18k on road for an 04 with 105,000km on the clock.

Could have got an 05 with 76,000km on the clock, leather interior and sunroof for 21k... i just couldn't justify spending an extra 3000 when it wasnt really needed. This car was to replace my VS that was written off a couple weeks ago, otherwise I wouldn't have been buying a new car.

My current combined figure is 9.9L/100 in my Calais.
