Hi All,
I turned on the options menu the other day to change the door lock/unlock options. Now it seems that I can't get rid of it - I still get the 'Press Mode to enter Options Menu' prompt when I start my car.
When I navigate through the menu and get to the "Exit Options Menu" prompt, I set it to yes, and hit mode and it exits. Next time I start my car, I get the prompt to enter the menu again.
I had a look in the manual but all it said about exiting the options menu was following the prompts, lol.
Any ideas anyone?![]()
dont hit any of the buttons and it should clear after a few seconds.
Chev badges are an instant fail
take it to holdens, or an auto elec, not too sure why it would start doing it when it never used to.

mine does it... i would think it is supposed to. How else do you get into the options menu without it? I'm new to my VZ so don't shoot me down if that's a silly question.
Why does it bother you though? It only stays for a second or so after the system check is complete.

Lol, don't worry mate I wouldn't shoot you down. If anything I was expecting to get shot down :P I'm new to my VZ too.
Maybe it's always done it, I can't remember. I thought that holding down mode whilst starting the car was to provide the option menu just that once off, not on a permanent basis lol. I tried doing that again to turn it off but eh, w/e.
Who knows! Guess I'll have to live with it. I could try resetting it to factory defaults but don't want to break my car :P
My VZ Berlina does it every time, my VY acclaim did also..
It goes after a few seconds, no big deal.
my clubby does it, its the only way to get into that menu.
the other thing your thinking is hitin like mode and set or something together to get the diag menu, which displays temp, rpm and speed etc in digital format, that dissapears after you turn car off, untill u hit the button combo again on start up.
hi guys, iam new to the forum but have a bit of exp with vz's...this thing is normal and is needed to go into the menu...it comes on every time you switch the ignition on as you cant go to the options menu once you have started the car....hope it helps....![]()
Thanks for all the input folksI just thought that it never came up until the first time I held down mode and started the car, so assumed there must have been some way of getting rid of it until the next time I hold down mode whilst starting.
Like you all say, no big deal and I don't even notice it any more :P
Thanks![]()
Heh - yeh, I think VZMAX (and a couple of the other fellas) have got it right - it's always been there!
I'm willing to bet you just haven't noticed it before - it's only there for a couple of seconds, generally while you're adjusting your seat position, grabbing the seatbelt, scratching your balls.... y'know, those things that you don't actually concentrate on, but would normally take away your concentration - right up until you become aware of the options menu prompt, then you seem to notice it all the time..... In reality, if that DIDN'T come up, then there would be no way to access this feature!
Hope you enjoy your VZ boofis - Cheerz!![]()
