I wanted to change my Diff oil in my VZ SV6 but don't know how. Any clues in how to do so and what do I need.
I tried looking everywhere for this info
Thanks,
Shaun

Paul, I'll be changing mine shortly its just clocked over 130 000 kays and oil is oil, it breaks down!!!
same as the coolant debate, its supposed to last 3 years or 5 years or something but its still a liquid ...
Im house bound today and couldn't think of much else to do so thought I would do radiator flush, oil / filter change and diff oil change.
Cant hurt

A whiny diff isnt good, and its the oil inside the diff housing that forces the pinion and drive wheel together ...

All changed and all sounds great !!
Will try and find the oil package and let you know what i used
well if you use castrol, you use SAF-XA in lsd's Without the additive that holdens says cause its allready in the oil, or if its a single spinner LSX90, SAF-XA can be used in the single spinner fine, but seals may start to leak after a while cause they dont have syntheitc oil type seals in them

No more binding up ( clunking ) in the diff and the lsd works better now. The auto will hold the car on a steep hill no throttle or brakes without rolling back at all. The gear changes are crisp now not that it was ever bad but I just think you should get them done on a regular basis. I prefer to get things looked at and serviced before they brake down.
The guys at workshop ( Preston autos & diffs in Melbourne's north) did a great job.
Does anyone know how often Holden says in between services? I can't find it in manual.
Anyhow thats just my 2c worth.
