It looks like it's a yes for the rear and a no for the fronts. I wonder why that is.
I was told when i got Repco to ring kings springs for me that they are the same size but the VZ runs a HD spring, you can use the VY ones but they will sit the car about 5-10mm lower and possibly be a bit softer..
I checked as I have the springs out of my VY still and wanted to use them, but i ended up buying all new anyway as I put new shocks and everything in and figured id do it by the book this time.
Well, I came into gaining a set of free springs today. They're either out of a VY or VZ GTS but the bloke couldn't tell me which one. I was thinking it would be something like spring rate or the like, but I wasn't too sure. The King Springs site says that they are different and the Monroe Shock site says that the struts are different, too. I'm really hoping these fit.
V8's are all the same, the V6's are different. Looking at the part numbers I would say the VZ is a bit heavier in the front than the VY in the V6. The spring itself would physically fit, the rate will be different.
ive got lovells VS V6 ssl's in the front of mine, and they fitted straight in with no problems
only difference i noticed with drivin the car is cornering is alot more firmer
Oznut, there is no VZ GTS, only a VY GTS, so id say you have the VY springs
i'd say its possible that the front will sit higher due to the springs being designed for a V8
I spoke to King Springs before about the different spring rates and he said going from the VY to the VZ would be fine, but the front would sit a bit lower because of the weight difference. Now, going from V8 to V6, I'm thinking that it might even itself out in the front. If not, I'll just whip a set of Kings in there and call it a day.
Yeah, they are, but the VY V8 springs in the VZ V6 will sit exactly where they should, as the VZ V6 takes the same spring.
Well, springs are in and it's sitting a bit lower. Maybe next year I'll get it to where I want it but for now, free will do.
Cheers guys.
