I drive an 05 SV6 and am looking at replacing the door speakers with something a little better. I still have the stock head unit and have no plans to replace that atm.
Just wondering if others have changed only the 6" speakers and if its made a difference in sound quality?
Cheers.
I have changed mine and to be honest it doesn't make much of a difference. In my vy i was running the same speakers off a pioneer headunit and it sounded alot better.
If you were going to do anything chuck some 6x9's in the parcel shelf.
Thanks. I'm thinking maybe I bite the bullet and just install a new H/U amp & speakers.

Then you'd get more wattage to drive a good speaker.
Well, I ended up getting a new H/U, amp, slits and 6x9's. That should take care of it now.
Thanks for all the advice
Some people have said that yea with an amp they sound awesome with stock H/U and Stock speakers. Mind you, sound is a personal thing, where one thing might sound awesome to one person will sound **** to another.
Either way, if you throw in an amp, if you upgrade the speakers in future you've got the amp all ready for them!
I have a 800w 4ch Pioneer amp with a 12" kevlar sub in enclosure in the boot wired up to the stock head unit and internal speakers. Sounds pretty mint. The speakers inside the car are not too bad considering they are still Blaupunkt, so they do a decent job... for nowJust gotta tie that sub down .............
Me? I'm the guy who does his job ... you must be the other guy ...
