    Default VZ ute indicator sticking

    Hi,

I have an 2005 VZ S ute and lately the drivers side indicators are staying on, mainly when its hot. I think a relay or something has a sticking contact??

Has anyone else come across this?

To get it to come off I have to put the hazards but the time varys.

I'm not sure if it's related, but my VZ (sedan) had a problem a while back where the left indicator would stay lit after locking the doors. (actually ran my battery flat one night! Locked it in the afternoon and didn't see that it was on - next morning needed a clutchy! )

That ended ap being a fault with the BCM, and it was replaced under warranty. It's never done it again, so that must have been it!

Your issue sounds a bit different though... worth thinking about however?

    Cheerz.

Well it could be the same issue mate. Because it does happen after locking.

    SO BCM is the computer?

It's the Body Control Module - it looks after a lot of stuff, and the relays for the blinker circuits are among that I believe. (along with other stuff like door locking, power windows, etc etc....) Oh, and yes - basically it's a computer which controls electrical body components. (as distinct from the PCM - Powertrain Control Module - which looks after engine and transmisison)

There are other ways apart from going to Holden - if the car's out of warranty they will bite you hard for a replacement BCM. (and yes, all they will offer to do is replace it - not repair it.)

    Best of luck!

My VZ wagon is doing exactly this at the moment, it's pretty random and only happens now and then, unlocking and locking again usually gets them back off.

Let us know how you get on LX Hatch.

Seems very common, def a Holden issue, should be recalled I reckon.
Max2, try just locking and unlocking with the keys, just a thought.

hard to find a repairer atm. From GMH part no. GM-92176588 for the BCM (possible actual part no. 92155209CO)
    and the required keys GM-92049154
All up cost from GMH drive in out $ 5-600.

    Smile Problem solved cheaply

Hi guys, had the same problem with my Vz Commodore, after pricing up a new BCM i decided to do some research and sourced the parts to fix my own.
If anyone needs this problem fixed, send me an email and i'll let you know how to go about it.
Rough cost is about $100 and trust me it works, gauranteed!!!

my Monaro started doing it recently too - seemed to be warmer weather, but then just started doing it constantly - even the hazard lights would flash each side at a different speed. I took her to the local dealer and he 'reset the computer' (or whatever the hell they do) and she's been fine since. didn't cost me a thing either....

FYI, I have sourced the relay inside the BCM, that is usually responsible for the indicators sticking on when the vehicle is locked. Have already supplied some relays to various folk, and it has fixed the problem in their vehicles. PM me for details.
