    Default SV6 Power Gain

Ok, so i know this has been covered everywhere; but that's my problem.

There are so many opinions all over the place about what is best for the VZ SV6 in terms of power, some people have completely opposite views etc. i just don't know what to do.

There's CAI, exhausts, chips, tunes, 2 mole mods, MAFLESS, MAF etc. and i was hoping a couple of poeple could help me out and just say, this is your best shot. Obviously doing the lot would be best-but i aint rich!
I was wondering if i could get something done for under a grand that would add a significant amount of power to the sv6 to make it worth while?

I've heard of this tune that pumped it up to 213 kw's but i'm not sure how old that thread was ad i'm pretty sure it was in Sydney too (i am in Melbourne)

If anyone has some sound advice it would be much appreciated! Thanks guys

I got an email back from the guys who do the VCM suite tunes and they confirmed that with the VCM suite tune you can end up with about a 20-30rwhp gain in power (putting the rwhp figure for an SV6 up to around 210-220rwhp based on my baseline dyno result of 192.3rwhp), and it also removes the torque "abuse" management aswel. Cost was something around the $900 mark.

change diff ratio is ur best way to make ur car go significantly faster,
thos sv6s and mine too r extremely highly geared for fuel economy, just be aware however that obviously ur
engine is going to use alot more rpm, increasing fuel usage and realli lowering overall lifespan

If you're thinking of diff gears, a lot of SV6 owners go for 3.46 monaro diff gears because they are solid and kick the car off the line nicely. That along with a VCM suite tune would own heaps. Also, when you have diff gears done, you need to have your speedo recalibrated, holden service centres can do this for you. As for revs, from what I have heard it only really increases your rev's at say 100kmph by about 300rpm to about 2100-2200rpm, which is pretty bloody good overall.
