Hey folks, I'm new here and I have a problem with my 2005 VZ Commodore wagon.
I had a 60K service done a week ago, and then driving home from work yesterday my 3 window cluster showed the following messages:
1 - Service Vehicle Soon
2 - Safety Mode - Reduced Performance
I am not worried about 1 as I will get Holden to delete this cause the service has been carried out.
I am concerned about 2. Not only the message, but the fact that when this came on, I basically could not go above 80kmh. I would put my foot down, and the car would down shift to 2nd, but not really go.
Does anyone know what this fault is, and more importantly, how I can get rid of it so I can drive he car normally?
Thanks
its gone into limp home mode, which is exactly that, it limits performance so you cant do much damage to the engine or drivetrain while you limp it home to safety.
Sounds like someones done something thats set off an alarm. Not nessicarily a bad thing, mine did it when I installed the wrong accelerator pedal and it detected it wasnt right, but its saying somethings wrong.
Let us know, sounds liek someones played with something tho
1. isnt a service reminder, it means there is a non high priority fault code logged and present, get it checked out as soon as you can,
the only other thing you can try is disconnect the battery and reconnect is after a couple of minutes, if there was a glitch this might reset it, if it comes back you have an issue

The holden dealership said it needs a computer download and want to charge me $80 for it. I didn't bother as i think there is a simple way to get rid of it but haven't found it yet. Must be someone who knows how to fix this annoying problem simply.. I fitted a new battery to it yesterday and now the Airbag Warning alarm is also going off as well followed by the seat belt alarm then the low fuel alarm.. Does anyone at all.. KNOW HOW TO GET RID OF ALL THESE ALARMS???
Please help me.. hehe.
hmm something bads happened there, try disconnecting the battery 5 minutes and re-connect, it may get rid of a couple of those,
but you are in need of mechanic and a compatible scan tool im afriad,
as i said before, service vehicle soon indicates a non emissions related fault, its just a stupid way of saying hey, ive got an engine light on but its not that important
