Hi there,
Just bought a VZ SS ute (which I am very happy with) however I need to change the wheels to something more appealing.
I'm considering the Simmons FR19's however I am wondering whether there may be other brands in a similar style that I should look at. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Wheel are mostly down to personal preference.
Main thing I'd consider is that the bigger the rim, the more you'll pay for rubber. As a rough guide for decent performance tyres you'll pay about $200 per corner for 17's, $300 for 18's and $400 for 19's. It all adds up over time.
You may also find that a lot of aftermarket rims buckle and warp much more than stockies would, especially the larger rims with less rubber to protect them.
Simmons are a good quality rim, not sure what prices they are these days but used to be on the expensive end, but like most things you get what you pay for.
Everyone has their own style and wheel preferences, its a personal choice, if you like them then go for them!!
how much for your old rims?
What colour is your ute? FR19s would look tough in black with a polished lip if it is a red, yellow, blue or white.. and polished FR19s would look awesome on black.
Hi Mate, this is a bit of an odd question, but I have VZ SS wheels on my wagon, and am desperatly trying to find out the paint colour code so I can repair some gutter rash. THis code isnt listed on your SS anywhere on plates or in the books or anything is it?. If you have this it would be much appreciuted
CHeers
VZ clubsport 19's.
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
Can't find the colour code unless it's hidden somewhere.
Unfortunately I don't have the original wheels on the car when I bought it.
When I was down at the Summernats, I saw a few VZ utes with VE SSV 18" wheels which looked quite good. Might even explore this path.
Anywhere in Sydney that sells these original wheels?
