Hey all,
does anyone know if 20 x 8, or 20 x 8.5 rims fit on a vz without scrubbing if its also lowered?
I think in order to give you an accurate answer we also need to know what offset the rims will be plus... how low we are talking...
Though I would say that anything lower than fe2 would cause you scrubbing issues while turning up front...
Give some more details someone will be able to give you a more accurate answer.
realistly the lowest u can go without scrubbing is superlows, but thats with 225 tyres though, any wider and there will be scrubbing issues
i believe most 20s are 8.5" wide
it also depends on how low you want to go aswell,
my own car is on super super lows and i have scrubbing issues with the rear bumper, but that just needs more trimmed off it
ive also had the rear gaurds rolled to stop the tyres gettin chopped up all the time
ok thanks alot
hey dude,
ive got 20's with 35 offset and ive been looking at getting airbags.
now they fit now at standard height but when i put the bags in im going to have to roll the guards.
even if i put it on lowered springs rolling guards would be neccessary but they would clear the struts.
mine is a wl but i assume same principal.
hope that helps good luck

20 x 8 with 245/30/20's
had the tiniest scrubbing on the rear over large bumps, did some minor panel work on the rear guards, doesnt scrape..
for the record most 20's are NOT 8.5" wide..
hmmm this interesting to know, as me myself i am getting a VZ SV6 and wanting to put nice 20 " rims on my car also...
ROCK OUT WITH YOUR **** OUT !!!
thinking towards airbags with 19s instead i dunno lol
Just for some info...
a 245/30/20 inch tyre is only 0.9mm larger in diameter than a 245/35/19..
oh true? ok thanks buddy. you been a good help![]()
yeah thats wat puts the speedo out with 20" wheels
to get that sorted its just a matter of getting it recalibrated, shouldnt cost much at all to get done

Hey I have 20's on 2005 VZ SV6 and have no probs up front only a bit of rub if boot loaded up.
check pic out
it wont scrub up front as you still have massive clearance between the gaurd and tyre, rear thats not bad then, have you had your rear guards rolled at all?
Ive got 20 inch x 8.5 inch on the rear of mine with a 275 tire, I had to roll the guard and I lowered it till the guard was just level with the tire. Along with that I had to fit a 5mm spacer behind the rim because it will rub on the inner side of the wheel. No need to replace wheel studs as it fits fine. A friend of mine only had to put a 4mm spacer but another had to put an 8mm spacer and we all have the same rims, I found it varies a little from car to car. Best thing is we can carry passengers and no rubbing, must say it looks tuff, will post pics soon for all to see.
Hey mate, i've got a VZ wagon thats been lowered (font is pretty farkin low as well) and im running 20's with 245/30/20 nakkang tyres. They fit, but only just. You will need to get the rear gaurds rolled. The front tyres will just clear the spring seat, if you go 35 profile you may need to modify the spring seat for them to fit. but 245 a pretty wide for commo rims.
gday mate, yeah im doing the same as you, you may need coilovers or airbags, but with airbags lets say theres no change from $6k hahaha thats for a decent setup
BLANK
20x8.5, 225/35, rolled guards, sedan springs, 2cm max between bumpstops, no scrubbing issues
hehe
Ive got 20x9.5 wide at the rear on my VZ Calais, I had initial problems of the guard scraping the rim, got the rear guards lipped only slightly and no more issues. The tyre does scrub the guards if there is weight in the back but the calais suspention is very very soft.
if you want this thing to go fast, id advise against the bags. youd loose kws as well as adding weight, but for a cruiser, go for it. 19"s look dope with slight rear tuck
