Ok got my scan tool today, and YES it works a treat on CAN BUS and older OBD2 systems
I tested it clearing a fault on the VZ and it reads and works well with that, it also works well on a VY i tried it out on and also my X-Trail
So if you want a stand olone system for checking and clearing DTC's the one above in my earlier post will work for you
Its paid its dues already, helped me fault find a wiring issue with a SV6 and helped my wallet to an extra $50
