Getting a VZ Boot Lid

Hi Guys and Gals.

I am just thinking about buying a vz sv6, but all the ones i have seen come with a rear spoiler... to be honest i dont like the rear spoilers on a vz i just dont like the whole look of the sporty car... (It's just not me at all) the only one has tickled my fancy was a VT clubby.

Now what i was thinking of doing if it is possible was to get rid of the wing off the back of the vz sv6, by possibly unbolting the wing from the car itself if that something that can be done,

and also getting something that would clear up the bolt holes... or is possible if to get maybe a new boot lid from holden and not having to take off the wing at all and maybe sell the original boot lid and wing that came with the car originally.

Cause i wanting to have a sleek Black Vz SV6

If anyone knows anything about this could you please reply back about that would be a great help cause i am thinking about getting a car in about 2 weeks time so that would give me something else to do to the car when i get it.

hey mate...u will be able to buy a new bootlid from holden..they are usually pretty pricy and try and charge u an arm and a leg...if u have a bit of spare cash..u can just remove the wing..but will have to get the holes welded up and the boot resprayed..dunno which will end up cheaper u will have to sus out some prices

why dont you get a calais if you dont like the sporty look.

comes with much more then a sv6 and most of them dont have a wing

Calais are more expensive one would think and harder to find really.... i tired having a look for one, but cant really find to many.

they are more but not by much..

spoilers are easy to take off but yeah your left with 5 holes that you can put some grommits in.

my mate had his spoiler removed on his black vy sv8 and got the holes filled in.

he's on here, names dvsv8

hey mate,

Sv8's come with spoilers factory too and im not a fan of them either. had my cousins boyfriend weld up the 5 holes as well as the lion badge holes so the car has no badges on the rear or side of it anymore. then he resprayed it for me. ( has to be redone as im not happy with the finish but thats off topic) to get it done by a crash shop your probably lookin at $600-$800 as a guess, give one near you a call and see. if you wanna see pics of my car there in my "my ride thread" link in my sig. dunno what page there on though so just go through it lol. send us a pm if you have any questions.

Why not buy the car with the spoiler and then buy a boot lid from a wrecker with a matching colour then fit it, then sell the original one ??????????????

i couldnt find a boot from a wrecker with or without a spoiler at the time. the only boot i could buy was new which i think was $800 then you gotta paint it. i got mine done through relatives so it was less then half that.

That was my first thought. Calais arent that much more expensive than a SV6. Ive seen Calais sold for the same price when i got my SV6 $23250
