    Default Fog Light Switch

ok asking a favor for the guys with factory fog lights,

if one of you have pulled the light switch out before, do you remember whether the purple wire with the red trace is located next to the blue wire or the white wire with silver dots

im sussing out which wire is the trigger for the fog light relay, for when i install them into my car.

Ive done it, its only a matter of installing a relay and a few wires, from that link above you add the extra wire to the switches plug, thats a switched -ve output, you run that wire to where you are going to mount your relay(near battery)

Now the next step is, do you want fog lights(on all the time with parkers) or spot lights(only on when high beam is on) cause the wiring is quite different

I can draw up a diagram for whatever you want i spose!

going by the wiring diagram and the schematics of the switch, the switch has one output for the foggies relay, this is just a referance signal (12v) taken from the parkers circuit, (all within the switch) how about i just send you a pm.......

The output from the switch without any mods already does that function, you need to change a few things to do just high beam

Thanks for all this info. I just have one question now. How do I physically remove the headlight switch from the dash board. Do I push it from the inside out, or do I prise it out with a screwdriver. I don't want to scratch up the dash or wreck the switch and since I haven't done this before it would be great to know the best way to remove the switch.

    Many thanks

on the back of the switch there is two metal tangs that lock the switch to the dash from the inside, you will need to remove the instrument cluster surround, the end cap on the dash and the fuse panel cover, getting one clips is easy, through the instrument cluster, then the other side you will need to get a long flat blade and it just fits between a gap up the side of the switch so you can release the clip, then pull the switch out, while keeping the clips pushed in, disconnect the wiring and your done
