    Default Comp. Insurance!!!! help!!!!

    Hi Guys

Just about to renew my comprehensive insurance, was previously with gio but they have increased the premium by almost $300 this year. Has anyone heard anything about bingle (the cover is provided by aami). They have quoted me around $650 for the comp. insurance including glass. Seems to be pretty low. Same is with youi their premium is around $800. Cant really spend $1600 for getting insurance as just had a baby last week but was told a week before that i might be jobless by the end of month
I tried looking for insurance articles on the forum but cudn't really find one that helps me.Any urgent help will be much appreciated.
    cheers.

if they are underwritten by AAMI then why not just try AAMI?

go to all the insurance websites and do an online quote.
CGU, GIO and ALLIANZ were the 3 best quotes i got for the VX SS.
prices ranged from $500 right up to $960 full comp, depending who i was quoted through.

What Davway said, get online quotes from all the major insurance Co's & take it from there.
$650 is a good price. im 26, turning 27 in June. Last may paid $1215 with NRMA when i got the car, $300 cheaper than my previous Insurer AAMI.

mate, I did that for all the companies (iam currently with gio, did online quotes for allianz, aami, nrma, budget, ing, comminsure etc...etc...) but none is below $1500 which is just ridiculous considering I paid around $1300 last year to gio who are quoting me more than $1500 this year. I called gio up and asked the reason and the girl said that you got an online discount last year but you won't get that this yr as you are just renewing the policy. My question is has anyone dealt with bingle or youi before as they seems to be offering a lot less price than the others...
    any comments????

My car is under finance which basically increases my premium by around $90. Do I need to tell them that it is financed?

It's worth calling up to get a quote, because they take more details and my experience has been the final quote has been much cheaper. It's happened a couple of times I've gotten an online quote, been ready to purchase it, called up and had it quoted again and it's been $300 cheaper! Has happened to me with AAMI and NRMA.
