OK so i just picked up a Dec '05 VZ SV6 auto. A couple of thing ive noticed are when braking the stereo seems to get quiter and when accelerating, gets louder. Also, when the head lights are set on auto, they wont turn themself off, so for now i have to just use them manualy. Any ideas? are these common problems?
im not sure about your lights man, but the stero is competly normal my dads sv6 does the same thing, its too compensate for the noise of the road and engine noise, so more u accelerate the louder the stero goes and when slowing down goes quite ect
Wogboyz is spot on with the stereo, you can turn the feature off when you run through the options as you start the car and press "menu".
Not sure about the lights either though, mate
any more details on the stereo? i went through the menu and had nothing about the stereo in there. Did show me how to reset the trip meter though, thanks for that too haha.
Also, can anyone comfirm if the dec '05 have the factory LSD or not? that thread about it seems to be mostly heersay and no real answers.
Sh*t I just took my VZ back to Holden this morning as I have been having drama's with my radio & headlight switch. (Both probs same as yours)
Radio: This looks like my bad as the boys have mentioned above there is a on/off switch in the mode set up all to do with road noise volume.
Headlight Switch: Holden found some bare wires, where a tow bar has been fitted. Hopefully this has fixed my problem.
The volume on the car is speed dependant, in other words the faster u go the louder it gets. The slower you go the quieter it gets. This setting is accessed by pressing the volume button & cycling through until reaching the desired setting.
With ur headlights, its most likely the sensitivity setting (low-med-high).
Depending on what setting u have it on, this will determine if ur headlights stay on in the day or not in the auto setting.
If you have it on high, on a overcast day this will cause the lights to come on.
If on medium, usually between dawn till dusk, you'll lights will stay off
If you have it on low, the lights wont come on until its reasonably dark.

There is a approach & delay (off) time setting, this is accessed through ur trip computer.
Turn ur ignition on, hold mode & set Wait for the system check & the options menu will come up, press up or down button to continue & then press mode each time to access the different settings.
Ive got mine set to 30 seconds approach & off.

Whats the best way to find out if any warranties are still current? Can any Holden dealer tell me?
If the vehicle is 3 yrs or more old or has travelled in excess of 100,000 km's then unless there was an extended warranty offered to the previous owner that was transferrable to you, then you will be out of luck. When you purchased the car 2nd hand it should have had a statuatory warranty - probably at least 3 months (depending on requirements for your State).

Also i thought i fixed my stereo problem, but apparently not. The only audio related option was about max volume or to do with distortion or something...
But i did manage to fix my headlights, and that annoying auto door lock!
thanks for this guys!

ALL FIXED NOW! turned out to be none of the things mentioned above.
called Holden and they told me where to find the exact details in my owners manual. Had to start car, then thurn stereo OFF. Then hold ON and '1' at the same time until it went in the Options. Then turn it off via that.
Thanks for you help with everything people.
