    Default Screaching noise!!!

    Hi Guys

I have a strange screaching noise coming form the front when the steering wheel is turned either right or left slightly(around 30 degrees either side). I am taking it to holden maybe this weekend, but just any thoughts what might be wrong?
    thanks

Did by any chance have new front brake pads installed, cause if whoeva did them forgot to remove the backing plate this can result in the noise.

no paul didn't have the pads but will be getting the discs machined pretty soon as there is a lot of steering shudder when braking...

little more for cold but maybe check the belt tension as this may cause your screaching under load if you have rims fitted?

    hey
by rims you mean std or aftermarket? i have 17" rims with bridgestone potenza tyres on...I'll check the belt tension maybe thats the culprit...

I would be highly suspecting the drive belt tension is on the low side. The large amount of extra power required for the power steering pump when on full lock would be more than enough to cause an horrendous squeal from the belt slipping. Specially if you've got wider tyres on.
