    Default Slipping/Faultering while under load.

    Hey guys,

Got a problem or two with my VZ commodore.

Just had a minor service and the transmission serviced.

While under load, the engine/trans (hard to tell exactly..leaning towards trans) stutters/slips/falters, i.e. going up a hill, or at speeds around 900 - 110 km on the freeways. Does it heaps more often when I have passengers.

The mob that did my transmission said nothing was wrong with the trans, quite healthy just needed a service.

Car has done 110,000kms and hasn't missed a service since 05.

Problems #2, not serious just annoys the hell out of me. A rattle from the driver door (pretty sure its from there). If on smooth road, doesnt rattle.

Don't know a great deal about cars, just the basics, so any help would be awesome.

have you checked the trans level? low level can cause issues

where abouts is the rattle comming from, can you isolate it to one area, as you can appreciate there is many things that can rattle inside a door. mine had an annoying rattle after i refitted my door trims once, it was just the interior door handle not being adjusted right

Well I just had it serviced, engine and trans, so I would assume that there would be plenty of fluid in there...

As for the rattle, it's hard to tell over road noise and concentrating on driving, but in the door somewhere..i might just take the inside off and have a look..

Anything I should know when pulling off the inside of my door? clips etc..

One thing I've read over numerous sites, is that it might be my spark plugs/leads. Told my mechanic what the problem is, but he couldn't get the car to do it lol..ofc.

Might also buy some new leads and just replace them. Any tips for doing that to lol.

Assume, your mechanic may have told someone else in the workshop to check the trans, and he is assuming that it was done as well. I would check the level. At 110k your plugs are gone, buy the right type and change them or have them changed. No leads as such, coils should be OK. Change your fuel filter, check your air filter. I assumed holden had done everything in the service schedule as well. Wrong.

Rang holden spare parts, and the girl told me the VZ doesn't have leads, I know squat about cars, so is this correct or is she on drugs?

If the vehicle is a v6
Spark plugs for 6 are priced at $55.20 inc gst
    Air filter $19.05 inc gst
    Fuel filter $29.45
    V6 do not have leads
